Dead Pilot Whale Lies in Port of Burela Where Several Whales Beached Themselves

SPAIN: January 10, 2003

of Burela, northwestern Spain, January 8, 2003.


Some eight whales were found dead here at the
same time some 80 pilot whales died after
swimming ashore on Stewart Island, New Zealand.

Whale is Lifted by a Crane After Appearing at Barcelona's Port

A dead whale is lifted by operators after being found at Barcelona's port May 9, 2002. The whale washed up in a dock after several days of stormy weather in the Mediterranean. The cause of its death was still unknown.
