Numbers of cetaceans observed as bycatch

During 1992 and 1993 observers recorded large numbers of whales and dolphins taken as bycatch in the French tuna fishery in sea area 51-53º N and 10-20º W

The sea area referred to in the observations shown above is within the boundary locations of area VIIc, coloured brown, area VIIb, coloured dark green to the West of the Irish Republic.
