Wildlife group targets drift net fishing

A net identification kit has been produced as part of a campaign to reduce "ghost fishing" in waters off northern Australia.
Damian White from the World Wildlife Fund says the kit will help fishermen identify the source of drift nets that are causing significant damage to marine life.
The kit has been given to commercial fishermen in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Mr White says the nets are taking a heavy toll on marine life in northern waters.
''In December we had a fisherman contact us about a net he'd found in the Arafura Sea and this net contained 20 juvenile hawksbill turtles, and according to him he sees that about four times a year, he'll see a large net which has 20 or 30 turtles in it, which really is significant," he said.
